6 Tips on How to choose the best costume
This word Cosplay was derived from two English words – costume and play, and it is now a common way of dressing in most countries. It is a style in which people decorate themselves in the costumes of their favorite characters from different sources with matching accessories. Cosplay had its origin from Japan as people were inspired by cartoon characters, comedies, movies, books, video games, anime and manga that were very popular in Japan.
However, choosing the right costume sometimes is cumbersome if there are no guides; that is why I will write about how to choose the right costume for any cosplay festival.
1. The Cosplay Festivals:
You will agree with me that not all costumes are fit for every cosplay; every festival requires a different costume. That is why you need to be sure the type of costume that fits for that cosplay festival. This will avoid you the embarrassment cement of looking very different in the cause of the event – different countries with different cosplay festival e.g., Australia and New Zealand, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
2. The Character:
It is important to learn some of the qualities of the character you will be modeling. Remember, the essence of wearing a costume is to be as close as possible to the real character. If you get the costume without wearing the right character along; it is just like eating a salad without the cream.
3. The Costume:
Remember the idea is to look as real as possible; in addition to that, people must be able to relate the costume you are wearing with the character you are representing. That is why you must get the right costume with all the necessary accessories; as some cosplay festivals are very strict with costume design, color and pattern of the outfit.
These are paramount as the outfit often conveys the character’s roles and emotions; vibrant colors are used for the protagonist whereas somber colors are for the antagonist. Feminine characters are mostly soft color tones such as pink, yellow and red while Male characters are in blue, gold, red and white. Some other colors may also be added to match the character’s personality.
Now that you know the right costume for the cosplay festival; it is important to now determine if the costume is unisex. This will help you to as a parent to decide whether to buy a different costume for each of your children; it will also help your search for the right costume. Many anime characters that are known as “bishounen” or feminine-looking male characters are popular and very accepted.
5. Costume Care Maintenance
Caring for the outfit depends on whether one would be using it regularly or once. This is because clothes that are regularly worn must be made of durable fabrics and easy to clean. Although, these costumes might be a bit expensive, but can be your best choice in term of long term investment. Disposable outfits, on the other hand, are those that are for one-time use only. They are cheaper but less durable as these may last for a shorter time than the most expensive ones.
6. Buy costume from a reputable store
This is indeed my final tip and should be taken very seriously. Just like every other house hold unit, the costume you buy is as good as where you buy from. If you buy it from a questionable store it will most likely be of low quality but if you buy it from a high quality.
I hope these tips help you to make the right choice, maybe you guys can have a look in website here moviescostume.com and you will surprised with it .
